Located on an inner city block, the owners of this Federation styled home came to us to extend their house and effectively make use of all the unused space they had on the lot.
It was important that the heritage feel to the house was left in place and for the communal areas to be open plan.
The extensions included a spacious porch that would tie in with the charming front elevation, opening up the kitchen into the dining area and extending out to create a spacious living and alfresco area. Another wing was also added to the rear of the house and consisted of a fourth bedroom with walk in robe, double basin ensuite, new laundry and WC.
The living room with its north facing windows, elegant ceiling rose and stacker doors opens onto the alfresco area that features an inviting timber deck. Adding some of these modern elements into the design creates a fusion of eras and still pays homage to the original heritage home.
