Working closely with the clients, an industrial styled unit development design where refined meets rustic was created to enhance the area and fit right in.
The two stylish family homes incorporate 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, study nook, second living space upstairs and fully functional open plan living areas that open up to alfresco. Clean bold lines, a touch of rawness and hint of heritage effortlessly bring the design together.
All living areas are located downstairs for entertaining and convenience and bedrooms were designed upstairs for privacy. The kitchens flow freely through to the outdoor alfresco ensuring the owners have views of greenery and a sense of cohesion from indoor to outdoors. Despite each lot only being the minimum size for the zoning, the homes are spacious and provide all the necessities that a larger suburban home would have.
A statement open tread staircase creates a welcoming presence upon entry alongside a warehouse inspired double height ceiling void. The raised study zones are a clever feature piece to each home and a cosy retreat for quiet time.
The mixed material palette combines the stunning recycled bricks, a combination of light and dark renders, polished concrete and timber cladding that add a textural element. This exterior layering flows into the interior where a monochrome palette is paired with timber and sleek metal elements throughout the homes. One of the kitchen's showcases matte charcoal cabinetry which still feels warm and inviting.
A refined rawness infused with industrial elements give it plenty of interest and character to these cool, calm and collected units.
